In 2006, Rick Tobey, Senior Consultant, after years of serving as a Safety Trainer for various government and private industry, Rick founded Tobey Safety Training, LLC. He saw the need for an Electrical Safety Training Company that could cut through the red tape of scheduling governmental assistance training and provide timely solutions to your regulatory safety training needs. Rick has overn 46 years experience in the electric utility business in maintenance and construction. Recently Rick left the employ of Asplundh to open his own safety training and consulting company. He has been involved with safety and training for forty of those years. He holds a Certified Utility Safety Administrators certificate from the National Safety Counsel, a Cerified Utility safety Professional (C.U.S.P), is authorized to teach the 10 hour and 30 hour Outreach program for OSHA General Industry and the OSHA Construction course, and is certified to instruct the T&D Electrical 10 hour program. He was the lead Supervisor for Safety for Florida Power and Light Company for 2 years, service center lead supervisor for Florida Power and Light company, Apprentice trainer and safety supervisor for Red Simpson Inc. the Manager of Safety for Asplundh Construction. Additionally he was the Safety Training Supervisor for Asplundh Corporation. He has great communications skills, computer skills and Supervisory skills in the Behavior Based Safety Process. And is also an instructor for Maintenance of Traffic including Florida. As well as a Journeyman Lineman by trade certified by the I.B.E.W SC-U4. /Florida Power and Light Co.
Rick has also instructed the Lineworker program at Central Alabama Community College in Talladega Al. as well as climbing school for the CSX railroad.
